The East Coast of South Island

We had a gorgeous day today driving down the coast from Blenheim to Christchurch. The photos attest to the fine weather and the scenery speaks for itself. We did turn inland for a while where we encountered more narrow twisty roads but not as challenging as yesterday. We do not ride the bikes along this side of South Island which is the flatter and drier side because the prevailing winds are from the west. If I had to describe it to anyone in Canadian terms it would be the Alberta foothills with the Cabot Trail shoreline with a few seals thrown in.

Tomorrow we pick up the group, drop them at the hotel and drive another 5 hours south.
